そう言えばkanakoさんの言語取得法は、現在の日本社会が痛いほど必要としているモノです。何せ皆アホみたいに英会話とか言語学校とかに金を投げ込み捲くってるのが現状ですが、その値段の割りに結果が出ません。で、「日本人にゃ無理や」、「島国だからサ」、「英語が難しい」云々屁理屈とコジツケばかりで結果の乏しさを誤魔化そうとしていますが、問題は絶対に、考え方と其処から生まれる遣り方にあると僕は確信しています。

In general, this means that with a dictionary, and a basic understanding of grammar, you can understand almost any text that you would be able to in your native language even if you don't grasp the nuances and subtleties. So unless you're wanting to read Hegel translated into your target language, you should be good to go; besides, that's a challenge in your native language. I second jumping right in.
