Have you heard 盧廣仲? Awesome singer, think he’s from Taiwan. Also, Soler, Mr., LMF and MC Jin for rock and hip-hop if you’re going for Cantonese 😉

Free Japanese music from Bandcamp. Didn’t check it yet, but I will.

Just thought I’d put it out there, my friend and I have started a podcast of j-pop/rock music. If you’re interested, you can check it out here: jpopcast.griffinearle.com/

Here’s a few of my favorites that I haven’t seen shared on here:
    在日ファンク(ざい・にち) – like james brown
トクマルシューゴ – don’t really have a comparison for this guy
those links lead to the songs that got me into each one

You guys have to check out サカナクション! They have some of the most creative music videos I have ever seen.

The indie/shoegaze scene in Japan is absolutely vibrant, it’s a shame almost no-one knows about it.

Three excellent bands nobody has ever heard of:

    少女スキップ (shojoskip) (youtu.be/lTPJCM4Elzw)
    死んだ僕の彼女 (My Dead Girlfriend) (youtu.be/_InZqdSZRmc)
    The Earth Earth (youtu.be/k5yE9foN7Fg)
